Who's your Farmers
We are committed to growing healthy, quality vegetables in a way that benefits the health of our soil and our bodies. Seaspray Cooperative is made up of two farms;
Reg Phelan (Seaspray farms); is our dear friend, neighbour and mentor. His farm grows Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage and Brussels Sprouts (among other things) for your subscription.
We, Byron Petrie and Carina Phillips (Thistle Dew Farm); are growing Leaf Lettuce mix, Spinach,Spring Onions, Herbs, Tomatoes and much more! (details about flower delivery to follow). Being a Co-Operative guarantee's a wide variety of veggies in your box each week!
What to Expect
6-8 freshly picked and washed veggies from our farms. We choose the best of our weekly harvest for you. We keep meal plans in mind by matching items that we feel go well together. For example; string beans and new potatoes for boiled dinner or crunchy lettuce mix with tomatoes for some salad inspiration!
Where
We will be doing door delivery. All of our subscriptions include the cost of delivery. This is a new service that we are excited to provide!
When
Every Wednesday for 12 weeks beginning July 1st-September 16th.
Why
We decided after facing the realities of Covid 19 that going forward the CSA model was the best fit for us and our community. The CSA model has the advantage of guaranteeing the consumer with a growing season worth of food while insuring us the farmer with income so that we can focus on growing safe and healthy food. We take joy in meeting our community and connecting through the common thread of "we all have to eat," so why not make it the most nutritious, local and sustainable grown food as possible?

NEW! Community Supported Locally Grown Flowers
Who's your flower farmer?
I, Carina, have always been fascinated by wild flowers. I started growing flowers for the Farmers market in 2017 with the incentive to grow buckets of flowers for my own wedding, which I did and I've been hooked on playing with them ever since! I've learned to harvest at ideal moments of the day and at best budding stage to ensure top quality blooms and long vase life. I'm always in search of unique varieties, colors and textures that add whimsy and elegance to any bouquet, especially my own farm fresh creations!
What to expect
A freshly picked bouquet every week for 12 weeks. Various sized bunches arriving at your doorstep, each with unique design, color and charm. It's a gift of joy for you or someone special in your life.
When
Every Wednesday for 12 weeks. Beginning July 1st- September 16th.
Why
I love the look of happiness on peoples faces when they receive flowers! Local flowers matter because they enhance our local eco-systems and lessen our carbon footprint. Whether on a dinning room table or at the bedside of someone special, flowers bring beauty into our daily lives. Here at Thistle Dew Farm, we love to see flowers growing alongside our vegetable crops. Not only does it make our work space look lovely, they attract bee's, butterflies, hummingbirds and beneficial insects to help with pollination all over our farm.
